Same Race, Different Culture

I think Nigerian parents are the best comedians in the world, especially when they're not trying.  Here is a HILARIOUS video from Adeola Oladele at African Spotlight interviewing some Nigerian parents in New York asking whether Nigerians must marry each other.  I swear each of these parents remind me of a particular auntie or uncle I know.  Especially the dude talking all loud on his cell phone in the background.

  1. I remember this video! I found it hilarious as well even though it was somewhat sad. And I loved the man giving his email address while speakin Yoruba, at one point in the background video.

I 'discovered' your blog today and have read through it. It is great that you're discussing about interracial relationships as a Nigerian (I assume?).

Yes, I just played it again and laughed so hard I started tearing up! Whoo! I needed a good laugh. And I just caught the whole email address thing, you have really good hearing!
Thank you for visiting and reading. I pretty much write as "me" rather than marketing myself into any specific box. Similarly, I hope my writing challeneges assumptions that we all have about race and love.

I hope so too! And so far I think you're doing great. It seems you've only recently started blogging, I can't wait to read what you put up next.
